De supportact van Within Temptation voor de Rodahal is bekend. Dit zal gedaan worden door Anneke van Giersbergen.BIOGRAFIE - Anneke van Giersbergen’s fourth solo effort “Live in Europe” was released on October 15, 2010 and contains recordings of her live performances in France and Spain earlier that year. With this release Van Giersbergen celebrated, in her own words, her first successful steps as a solo artist.

When Anneke van Giersbergen started her solo career in 2007, she had been fronting Dutch metal pioneers The Gathering for 13 years. Together with her band Agua de Annique, she has released several outstanding albums in a short time span. With “Air” (2007), the acoustic treat “Pure Air” (2009) and “In Your Room” (2009), she immediately managed to draw attention as a solo artist. She also engaged herself into some interesting cooperations with the likes of Within Temptation (“Black Symphony” 2008), Anathema-guitarist Danny Cavanagh (“In Parallel” 2008) and eccentric multi-talent Devin Townsend (“Addicted” 2009).

These last few years, Anneke van Giersbergen has been exploring her musical boundaries to the fullest. In 2008, together with Dutch A-list bands Racoon and Bløf, she recorded a song in her native language: “Als je ooit nog eens terug kan”, which shot straight to #1 on the Dutch charts. She’s also made a couple of on-stage guest appearances with Portuguese metallers Moonspell and Devin Townsend Project.

For three years, Anneke van Giersbergen has been touring successfully with and without Agua de Annique, both in her home country and abroad. She has performed from Chile to Lebanon & from Mexico to Finland, as well as support for The Smashing Pumpkins and a special presentation in front of H.H. the Dalai Lama.

“Anneke is a very powerful girl”
-    Michel Schoots (Urban Dance Squad and producer for “In Your Room”)

With “Live In Europe” Van Giersbergen has successfully captured the energy of her live performances. Anneke states: “There are three brand new up-tempo songs on this album. Furthermore it’s a mix between the dark melancholy of “Air” and “In Your Room”’s indie rock.”

Anneke's upcoming album is being recorded at Ultrasound Studios in Braga, Portugal with producer Daniel Cardoso. A January 2012 release is expected. A single will precede the full-length effort in September 2011.
